You are able to load in any map you want in game. As long as Roblox Community Standards are followed, you will not be banned for uploading a map.
With that being said, uploading maps with any form of inappropriate imagery, language, or innuendo, even if it is hidden, WILL RESULT IN A PERMANENT BAN.
Just be reasonable, and ask yourself: "would a moderator approve of your map if they were to inspect it?"
Stick to the prop pack if you wish to use text for gameplay on your map.
TC2 Workshop Map Submission Criteria
The current TC2 map pool contains many TF2 maps, and that is something we are looking to change.
We want future maps to be high quality, completely originial and consistent with other maps.
The only map that currently meets these standards is 3cp_yellowvalley, and even it has some flaws.
To increase your chances of your map of being added, study 3cp_yellowvalley very attentively. Look at the attention to detail at every part of the map, the frequency of props, how terrain is created, etc.
Maps should not look like they are part of 3cp_yellowvalley, but rather look like they are part of the same world!
High quality means that a map should have good craftsmanship to it and when you look a little bit closer, it makes you say "a lot of effort was put into this!"
Completely original means that every aspect of a map was entirely created and envisioned by the mapper. Instead of looking to how TF2 typically does things, think to yourself, "what would work here?"
Consistent means that a map meets the same level of detail and artstyle of other maps in the pool.
Although 3cp_yellowvalley is the only satisfactory map in the pool, and we want future TC2 maps to have the same artstyle as it does, not the TF2 maps.
More resources on map detailing and layouts are to come, but for the meantime:
Do not use any TF2 props. Use the prop pack that is provided and get creative!
Focus on using parts for detailing rather than props. Make your walls pretty to look at!
Master the art of triangle terrain, again: study 3cp_yellowvalley and look how little need for props there are for outdoor areas (other than trees)!
When designing similarly themed areas as 3cp_yellowvalley, copy the designs 1:1 in order to improve consistency!
The artstyle is set around the years 2000-2010. Maps should be set in nature reserves, mining sites, factories, or any other industrial setting where GRN is trying to protect the environment while RED is trying to exploit it.
